How Much Do Things Cost? Three Keys to Find Life More Affordable

We were flying from Baltimore to San Francisco recently and decided to send our bags through with the airlines. Now that the airlines charge for bags (this was not Southwest, unfortunately) the price for my husband and me was about $ 75. It was worth it with the change of planes and the amount of carry-on we had with us.

We noted about the freedom that comes with just saying "yes" to these expenses, and we reminded each other that our mission is to inspire others to say "yes" to their expenses. The $ 75 to the airlines is a big number, or a small number. It depends on what your reference point is. For us, thank goodness, it was a small number.

About ten years ago I had a client who home I went to for private yoga instructions. Her husband had made some investments in the energy sector that went sour to the tune of millions of dollars. A friend of mine was their personal assistant. The woman, my client, was singing the blues about not being able to travel, about maybe having to discontinue the private yoga lessons, and how awful everything had become. My friend revealed to me that this couple was down to their last twelve million dollars . Perception is not always reality.

What about you? Have you allowed your finances to rise, like a river bed, to match your desired expenses? Have you allowed the " what you have " to swell to match and sometimes except the " what you want? " Or are you in a situation where just about everything seems so dang expensive, relative to the allowance you have to participate in life?

I was walking my dogs this morning and thought to take my little one to the groomers. That is something I really enjoy doing. I remember many years ago resisting taking my dog to the groomers because it was too expensive. Is not it interesting how prices can go up, and if we do work that generates plentiful financial support, we can become more able to afford them?

Millionaires are created in the direct marketing profession. In his book entitled Go Pro , Eric Worre states, " It's a stone cold fact that we have a better way ." If you are moving up the ranks and enjoying the lifestyle that you came here for, congratulations. Yours is one of those lives being changed. If you see around you that prices seem to be coming down, know that you are moving in the right direction. You and money are on track. This is the freedom to which we refer.

If things still seem so dang expensive, here are three things you can to do improve your situation .

  • Find out where you need to adjust your actions and thinking.Your thoughts can be supportive, or they can work against you. Your actions can be in line with your stated desires, or you might be under your own efforts. Which is it for you? The answer will lead you to know where to focus.
  • Pay attention when you deem something as "too expensive" or you "can not afford it." Might that be an opportunity to open the faucet to allow more in? Focusing on the increase will get you better results than focusing on the lack .
  • Seek opportunities. Every day there are people with what you can connect and learn. At first you get our of your own way. What comes after that is being behind yourself. Move toward your dream every day.

You were asked to identify these dreams when you first started. Are not they worth fighting for? This is your call to freedom.

South Carolina Adventure Travel

British Adventure Traveler Claire believed that she might enhance her adventure vacation by planning it with the help of someone who lived at her target destination. On previous trips, Claire either cooperated with a local tour company or she hired a local guide upon arrival. For her trip to South Carolina in the United States, she tried something different. Through BritishExpats.com, she made contact with countrymen who live in Charleston, South Carolina.

With their help, she determined to fly over for the final week of Charleston's Spoleto Festival and one of the expats that she contacted offered to guide her while she vacationed in Charleston. She also suggested that Claire break up her trip, to experience "Chuck town," (Charleston) on the front and back ends of her holiday by renting a car for a trip upstate to get at a Carolina peach, freshly harvested from the orchard.

The Carolinians consider the Spoleto festival as a kickoff to tourist season, and while many of the events directly connect with the Italian celebration of the same name, the festival means party long and well. For the well-heeled, Spoleto Charleston provides opera, Shakespearian plays, and opulent balls. For Claire, an open-air jazz festival, dirty dancing in the street, and fireworks juiced her interest in American pub-style fun. She booked her flights with Aer Lingus after she learned that she could get a seat on one of their flights mostly occupied by Spoleto-bound revelers. As she hoped, that group adopted her during the flight, welcoming her to join them to experience as many of the Charleston events that she wanted.

Claire got little sleep in the first few days of Spoleto. She enjoyed a sumptuous dinner before a street party every evening, followed by a main event and fireworks. Up early the following day for a grand southern American breakfast with lots of coffee, Claire toured old town Charleston by carriage and she traveled by boat to Fort Sumter in the harbor. Claire power-napped whenever she could "recharge her batteries," not wanting to miss anything. During her nap on the boat ride back from Fort Sumter, her sleepy head rocked over onto the shoulder of a British Navy Officer who had also traveled to Charleston on the Aer Lingus flight.

Gallantly, he did not wake her until the boat docked. After treating Claire to coffee, he invited her to join him for a tour of a visiting British warship at the Charleston Navy Base. At lunch aboard the ship with the officers and their wives, Claire mentioned her plan to go get a peach, and they all got into that too! Two days later, they whisked her away in a convoy of four cars as the British Navy Couples bulldoze on a "staff ride" to the King's Mountain Battlefield in upstate to pay their respects to Major Patrick Ferguson and his men, British casualties in the American Revolutionary War.

But, for Claire, their stop at a peach orchard in York set the stage for the high point of her holiday. There, for the first time in her life, Claire took a big bite into a dead ripe freestone peach. The incredibly sweet juice exploded in her mouth! It splashed onto her cheeks, dribbled down her chin, and onto her dress! Surrounded by cheers and the laughter of her newfound friends, Claire experienced the signature moment in her latest adventure travel. # TAG1writer

USA Road Trips – The Big Sur

The Big Sur is one of the most spectacular coastlines I have every seen. Even the beautiful valleys and coasts of Hawaii just do not come close to this amazing beauty of the Big Sur. Translated from Spanish Big Sur is 'El Sur Grande' which translated into Big South.

The Big Sur coastline covers about 90 miles, more or less bordered by the Carmel River northwards and about 120 miles south of San Francisco. Along these far-reaching, swooping seascape of woodlands, sheer cliffs and mostly little used beaches, Highway 1, finished in 1937 with inmates used as labor, makes its occasional alarming, but always a spectacular drive.

It is not for the fault of heart because this is a steep winding drive with turns that will slow you down to a few miles an hour. Many travelers ask if they can take their RV on this portion of Hwy. 1 and the answer is yes. I have done it in a 25 foot trailer and I have seen 40 foot rigs make the trip, just be prepared to drive slow and very cautious.

Point Lobos State Park is a must see. Here you will find a variety of wildlife including sea lions, sea otters and gray whales. Point Lobos is about 20 miles north of the Big Sur near the town of Carmel More beautiful stony scenery abounds somewhat farther south at Garrapata State Park.

Big Sur stays sparsely owned, with about 1000 residents. The citizenry of Big Sur nowdays are a diverse blend of descendants of the first colonist and ranchers, artists and additional creative people, along with affluent residents.

There are no urbanized areas, but you will find gas stations that sell gas at very high prices, some great restaurants and motels .. A great deal of the land on the coast is privately owned or belong to the state park system. The Los Padres National Forest and Fort Hunter Liggett Military Reservation cover almost all of the interior areas. The mountainous terrain, environmentally aware occupants, and deficiency of property acquirable for exploitation has preserved Big Sur all but unspoiled, and it continues to be an isolated part of California.

If you plan to travel to this area during the winter months be aware that when there is heavy rain in the area parts of the road wash away right into the ocean. Be sure to carry emergency supplies, water and food. Sometimes Highway 1 can be closed for weeks. The closest civilization is the town of Carmel which is about 20 miles north up the coast if you can make it.

Also during the summer months fire is a great danger. The Basin Complex Fire of 2008 forced residents and visitor to evacuate for 2 weeks and of course Hwy. 1 was closed also.

Nowadays Big Sur continues to combine to be a preferred place for local and foreign artists of every type. Art galleries located along Highway 1 display beautiful visual artist.

A great deal of of the area is controlled by the state and federal park systems, and hiking trails can be found through The Big Sur. The Los Padres National Forest, Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, Garrapata State Park and Andrew Molera State Park are known all over the world for their bedazzling scenery, and with good reason. Each park bears its personal unique ambiance, and no 2 hikes are similar.

Flight Deals to USA – Plus Free Accommodation!

This is really one of the big things of the week, and certainly I do not think it is going to last for long. And again, I will say I have no business relationship with anyone related with this, but the offer is so good that I think I really need to tell people. The cities of destination are New York, Boston, Baltimore Washington, Minneapolis, Orlando and Halifax Nova Scotia. How to Save Money on Home Removals

Moving home can be expensive and many of us will be looking for ways in which we can reduce the costs a little.

You may have certain options to do so when considering your furniture mover.

Here are a few ideas in that domain that might prove to be useful.

1. Do not move 'old tat'.

If we are honest with ourselves, we probably have an awful lot of old rubbish hanging around our homes in places like garages and attics.

Much of it may never be used or even looked at again, apart from when you are moving home! Remember, on the whole, the less you move the lower your costs may be. So, get it cleared out and sold off.

2. Shop around for moving company quotations.

Do not necessarily assume that the cheapest is going to be the best because you will want to make sure that your precious personal possessions are being handled by experts not amateurs. Even so, prices can vary and shopping around is a good idea.

3. Where possible, plan and book your move well in advance.

If you are trying to arrange things at the last moment, the chances are your choice of moving company will be restricted as will your ability to shop around for the most attractive deals.

4. Do your own packing – but be careful here!

If you do own packing, then it's pretty much a no-brainer that it will prove to be cheaper than asking professionals to do it for you.

However, caution is highly advisable! Poorly-packed items are likely to arrive damaged although carefully and specifically your removals specialist has been in their handling of the items concerned. So, know your limitations and if you have any doubts, spend money on professional packing!

5. Check out any special deals.

Some parts of the year and sometimes even parts of an individual week, are known to be reliably quiet in professional removals circles.

If you can be very flexible on your removal date and discuss your requirements with a local expert removal company, you may find that they'll be able to offer you a particularly attractive deal if you are able to move at a time and date that's convenient to them.

It's worth asking and you have nothing to lose.

6. Ask your removals company for help with packing materials.

If you are doing your own packing, going out and purchasing lots of new boxes and related materials may prove to be very expensive.

You may find that your selected moving company may be able to supply you with certain materials that may have been used but which are still in excellent condition. Some may provide them entirely free whilst others may make only a notional charge.

It's only going to be a lot more cost-effective than going out and buying your own new ones from scratch!

As a final thought, do not forget to ask your moving company for their advice on any other options you might have for reducing your costs. Most will only only too well aware how much financial pressure is placed upon families and individuals these days and will do whatever they can to try and identify other opportunities for you to save money.

Capable of accommodating 72 passengers the trains feature 20 coaches including two luxurious dining carriages, a lounge and observation carriage. Such is Rovos' pursuit of refined and luxurious travel the private company has even built and restored a private central train station and locomotive yard solely for the service.

The Blue train is a symbol of endearing opulence in South Africa, its unmistakable royal blue paintwork gleaming in the sunshine as it coasts through the valleys, savannahs and plains. Kings and presidents have journeyed through South Africa aboard the Blue Train and that air of prestige still clings to it today. Such are the standards attained on board this moving five star hotel that all guest rooms are suites with a selection of luxury and deluxe options available. The glorious wood paneled carriages have been beautifully designed to reflect the glamor of a forgotten age and through the train including the dining and club cart this sense of grandeur is maintained. A luxury train journey is a wonderful way to encounter the glory of South Africa and what more befitting way to explore this nation than by traveling with all the pomp and grandeur of a refined rail trip.

Moving Companies – For Better or Worse

Moving can be very wearisome, particularly if you have a lot of things to move. Packing up all of your things, properly, hiring a truck, loading the truck, driving the truck to your new home, and then unloading the truck again. It's very time-consuming and it probably makes you tired just thinking about it. Consequently, many people elect to hire professional moving companies to take on all or most of these tasks.

The fact is that, while hiring a moving company can help you save time and hassle, picking the wrong movers can add up to more grief than you want to think about. To guard yourself and your valuables, you might want to consider a few things before going a company to transport your things.

Some points to consider before you decide on a moving company.

1) Exactly which parts of the move do you want delegate to the moving company.

Needless to say, anything you require the mover to do will be reflected in their bill. Probably the most common scenario is that people will pack their own goods and then hire a moving company to load transport and unload all the boxes. Sometimes people, particularly if they may be moving cross-country, will rent a large truck and employ a crew to pack their goods and load the truck. Then they will drive the truck cross-country themselves and even higher a crew at the other end to unload the truck again. Of course others will employ a moving company to do absolutely everything, packing their goods, loading, transporting and even unpacking and removing boxes and packing materials at the new location.

2) Your budget, replacing money for convenience.

The fact is you can hire someone to do pretty much anything, for a price and when it comes to movers and moving nothing could be closer to the truth. If your funds are limited, you'll need balance to your funds with a certain amount of sweat equity. Consequently you may have to perform much of the work yourself and then simply pay the movers to perform those tasks that are the most difficult. Compare estimates from several moving companies and look for the most reasonable rate for the work you need performed. Note: Always check a moving companies references, as with many things, the lowest price is not always the best deal.

4) Is your mover adequately insured to protect your belongings from loss and damage?

You probably have a lot of money invested in things and there is always a degree of risk when you move them. The cost of an incidental mishap during transport could be awful. A moving company, even a top rated one, will usually be assured to meet basic requirements however, if you wish to be fully covered for every eventuality, it would be wise to purchase additional moving insurance for your total peace of mind.

3) Going the distance.

Long-distance moves are a very different animal from local moves. Moving long distances usually usually leads greater expense and requires a more experienced and properly licensed moving company. Moving from state to state or province to province is usually not performed by local movers. Long-distance moves typically require specialized paperwork as well as a number of other considerations unique to this kind of move. One very important aspect of booking a long-distance moving company is the matter of the lead time. Most long distance movers require advance scheduling and will need as much advance notice as possible.

5) Reputation is everything especially when it comes to a moving company

You've probably heard stories about people's bad experiences with moving companies. You may have even seen bad moving experiences depicted in comedy movies for laughs, but in the real world there is nothing funny about finding broken or missing goods after the movers have finished up and left. sometimes all the insurance in the world can not replace an item that has special sentimental value. You want to know that the moving company you choose will treat all your beloveds with the same care that you would. It can not be stressed enough that the moving company you choose should have the best references available and it's important for you to do your very best to find out everything you can about the moving company you choose.

Your mover should be a member of the Better Business Bureau and ideally the longer they have been in business the better. As it is difficult for a moving company to stay in business for long if they do bad work, generally movers who have been in business a long time will be more reliable. These days, checking a moving companies' reputation and history of handling problems is easy to look up by doing a search on the Internet as well as checking directly with Better Business Bureau complaints records.

Some final thoughts on selecting the right moving company.

Depending on the value of your possessions and the distance will be moving them, you may want to consider enlisting the services of moving agent. For reasonable commission a moving agent will make an experienced estimate of the volume and weight of your contents and act as a go between matching your requirements and budget with a reputable mover, storage if necessary, insurance, etc.

You can, of course do this process yourself however, you will need to prepare yourself before hand with a list of questions for the various moving companies you will be contacting and an appropriate amount of time to conduct thorough interviews with each company.

When estimating your insurance needs it's important to bear in mind that most often we will underestimate the value of our possessions because they have been acquitted over a period of time however, if you should experience the misfortune of having to replace all of your things you may be in for a shock when you realize the cost of replacing everything at today's prices.
